Asghar Farhadi has confirmed that he is currently writing his next film, which will mark a return to his native language, Persian. According to Cinemadaily, the acclaimed Iranian filmmaker expects to complete the screenplay within the next year. While details of the story remain under wraps and potential locations are still being considered, Farhadi has confirmed that the film will not be shot in Iran or France.
Farhadi had previously spoken about the possibility of making an entirely Iranian film outside the country, potentially featuring Iranians living abroad. He noted that recreating Iranian locations in countries such as Turkey or Georgia could be costly, but said he would have no problem making a fully Iranian production outside Iran, adding that he might eventually do exactly that.
