The first image of Leila Hatami in Hamid Nematollah’s upcoming film “The Idol” has been unveiled as the movie’s theatrical release date was announced. Produced and directed by Nematollah and distributed by Filmiran, the film is set to hit Iranian cinemas in early fall. According to Cinemadaily, “The Idol” marks Nematollah’s return to theaters after a decade.
Nematollah described “The Idol” as “a film about Iran today” and said he expects audiences to connect with the movie. He also addressed the continued ban on his previous film, “Killer and Savage,” saying that while he believes that film should have been released first, its release remains impossible. Leila Hatami stars alongside Mohammad Reza Foroutan, Leili Rashidi, Kazem Sayahi, Iman Sayadbarhani, Elnaz Shakerdoost, Banipal Shoomoon, Elham Jesmani, Mahtab Servati and Navid Pourfaraj.
